Association between Traffic-Related Black Carbon Exposure and Lung Function among Urban Women
"Black carbon was associated with race/ethnicity and education in bivariate analyses and with smoking status. Hispanics and women with a high school education or less had higher black carbon levels than their counterparts. Non smokers also had higher levels of predicted black carbon exposure than current or former smokers. Lower levels of lung function were associated with a diagnosis of asthma or chronic bronchitis."
